Exterior

A Tough Ute That's Hard To Beat

This is one tough ute. Six step cross members give it additional strength and rigidity for long-term durability and the ST-R model have heavy duty skid plates fitted to protect the underside of the fuel tank.

Chrome power mirrors

Large chrome power side-view mirrors on the ST-R give you greater all-round visibility (ST-R model shown).

Halogen headlights

Halogen headlights provide brilliant, sharp illumination for night driving. They also give you the confidence you require to view road signs or hazard warnings ahead.

Front fenders

Sturdy plastic front overfender flares available on the DX 4x4 and ST-R not only reduce the weight of the Navara D22 but also protect it against those annoying little knocks and bumps that are so frequent in tight working areas (ST-R model shown).

Fuel tank skid plates

Heavy-duty skid plates fitted to provide additional reinforcement and protect the underside of the fuel tank against damage in unforgiving conditions (ST-R model shown).

Wheels

There are stylish 16" alloy wheels for ST-R models. 16" steel wheels are available on DX 4x4 models while the DX 4x2 models come standard with 14" steel wheels (ST-R model shown).

Underbodychassis

A separate ladder-style chassis delivers great strength and rigidity. The interiors of side-member frames have also been reinforced for greater strength and durability.

Performance

All The Performance You Need For Work

With a maximum carrying capacity of 1,388kg (including optional tray) on the DX 4x2 model and a braked towing capacity of 2,800kg on the DX 4x4 and ST-R, the Navara D22 can shift almost anything.

2.5 litre diesel engine

Producing a tough 98kW of power and 304Nm of torque, it's no slouch. This engine offers all the benefits of diesel fuel economy with the kind of smooth, responsive performance traditionally associated with petrol engines.

DOHC

A double overhead cam is characterised by two camshafts located within the cylinder head, one operating the inlet valves and one operating the exhaust valves.

5-speed manual

There are double cone synchronisers on 2nd and 3rd gears - ideal for hauling big loads or cruising in comfort. A dual range transfer gearbox on 4x4 models gives you the further option of switching from high to low final drive ratios when the terrain gets more demanding.

Limited Slip Differential

All Nissan Navara D22 models also feature a rear limited slip differential. It delivers enhanced off-road traction and surefooted handling by ensuring that power is shared equally between the two rear wheels.

Safety

Work Safe, Work Better, Rest Easy

Navara D22's body is designed to absorb impact energy in a collision. The cabin is heavily reinforced with side intrusion beams to protect occupants. Inside there's an energy absorbing steering column, soft feel thick rimmed steering wheel, retractable seatbelts and flame retardant trim material.

Anti-lock Braking System

All models come standard with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The front ventilated disc brakes allow heat to be dissipated more rapidly to improve braking action, promote less brake fade and enhance brake life. Drum Brakes with brake boosters on the rear enhance safe, confident braking.

Dual front airbags

Dual front SRS airbags reduces the risk of facial and upper body injuries to the driver and passenger in the event of a frontal collision. The airbags are designed to remain inflated long enough to help provide enhanced protection and are standard on the Navara D22 range.

Steering column

An energy absorbing steering column is designed and engineered to minimise the impact forces entering the cabin in the event of a collision (ST-R model shown).

Fuel tank rollover valve

The fuel tank rollover valve provides additional protection to minimise the danger of fuel release or leakage in the event of vehicle rollover.

Load sensing valve

The load sensing valve automatically increases braking power to the back wheels according to the load carried.

Side intrusion beams

The strategic placement of high strength reinforcement in the cabin structure is complemented by an energy absorbing side structure. Doors, trims and other components are designed to lessen the effect of primary impact and reduce force in a secondary impact.

Stability

One of the key reasons for the Navara D22's superb driveability is the feeling of stability and confidence you enjoy behind the wheel. This is largely due to a sturdy separate ladder chassis specially engineered for stability during high speed cruising and on rough terrain, as well as a stabiliser bar that enhances stability even when cornering. All models also have the advantage of a rear limited slip differential which improves stability by ensuring that power is shared equally between the two rear wheels for enhanced off-road traction and surefooted handling.
